[Update] Rumor Roundup: Nintendo's New HD Console - News - www.GameInformer.com

Apparently Nintendo is going in the complete opposite direction of their business plan in 2006, when the Wii was launched. Websites from various areas of the interwebs are confirming numerous details, ranging from astounding to just plain crazy, about a new HD console that Nintendo is developing.

Hopefully this new "Wii HD", as some are calling it, will be able to entice Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 owners over to Nintendo's camp. With features like an iPad-esque controller and possible use of Blu-Ray discs as the storage media for games, I don't think Nintendo will really have much of a problem accomplishing that.

As somewhat of a Nintendo fan (we all know Playstation is the best, people) I really hope that many of these rumors prove true and that Nintendo decides to reveal this mysterious new console at E3. In fact, this is probably going to be my most anticipated E3 ever since I started following the convention a few years ago.

The link to the article below is from Game Informer, who have posted many different stories on the elusive console lately. Defintely worth a look. [Update] Rumor Roundup: Nintendo's New HD Console - News - www.GameInformer.com

Greetings and salutations.

I would like to welcome you to my new blog, the Danube Gaming Journal. If you're wondering about the name, I'll just say that I'm a Hungarian (actually half) who wholesomely embraces his heritage and leave it at that.

Anyway, you are probably here either because I asked you to come take a look or because you are looking for a well-written blog about video games. I will certainly do my best to deliver if you are of the latter camp. For those in the former, I hope you enjoy.

I have been looking forward to doing something like this for a long time. The bulk of this blog will be reviews and my random ramblings on recent video game news. If anyone has requests for a game that I should review (new or retro), I will definitely listen to those.

My current console and handheld lineup consists of a PS2, a Nintendo Wii, a Sega Dreamcast, an NES, a DS Lite and a Game Boy Color. Just to let you know what to watch out for, I have been playing Final Fantasy 9 on the PS2 and Legend of Zelda: Windwaker on the Wii. I try to have a lot of variety in my games, so I hope I'm not disappointing anyone with these current selections.

If you find this, please follow me, as I will try to post as regularly as I can. Also, invite your friends because I'd like a decent reader base!  I hope you enjoy this. I can't wait to see the feedback.
